Terms of Use

Effective Date: July 6, 2025

These Terms of Use (hereinafter referred to as the “Terms”) set forth the conditions for using the custom kanji design service (hereinafter referred to as the “Service”) provided by Authentic Japanese Tattoo Advisor (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”).

By using this Service, users (hereinafter referred to as “Users”) are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.

Article 1 – Description of Service

This Service provides Users with a custom-designed kanji character (hereinafter referred to as the “Design”), created based on the User’s written input and personal explanation.

The Service does not include medical services, tattooing, or referrals to tattoo artists.

The Company solely delivers design data and does not offer technical guidance, supervision, or guarantees regarding the tattooing process or outcome.

Article 2 – Intellectual Property and License

All copyrights and intellectual property rights related to the Designs are owned by the Company or its partners.

Users are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-commercial license to use the Design for personal tattoo purposes only.

Any reproduction, redistribution, resale, modification, or commercial use is strictly prohibited without prior written permission.

Minor technical adjustments by tattoo artists (e.g., resizing or placement modifications) for application purposes are allowed, provided the original design intent is preserved.

Commercial use requires a separate written agreement and authorization from the Company.

Article 3 – Disclaimer of Liability

The Company shall not be liable for any of the following:

  • Any physical harm, allergic reactions, infections, or medical issues resulting from the tattooing of the Design;
  • Misinterpretation or cultural/religious inappropriateness of the Design’s meaning or characters;
  • Disputes between the User and third parties (e.g., tattoo artists, studios, medical institutions);
  • Legal or social consequences arising from the use of the Design in jurisdictions where it may be restricted or misunderstood;
  • Any differences in appearance due to display settings, print methods, or resolution;
  • Service delays or interruptions caused by force majeure events such as system failures or communication issues.

Article 4 – User Responsibility

Users shall use the Design entirely at their own risk.

The Company makes no warranties as to the accuracy, interpretation, appropriateness, or completeness of the Design.

Users are solely responsible for reviewing the content and confirming its meaning before proceeding with any tattoo.

Article 5 – Limitation of Liability

In the event the Company is found liable to the User, the Company’s liability shall be limited to the total amount paid by the User for the Service.

The Company shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits.

Article 6 – Cancellation and Refunds

Once the design process has begun, no cancellations or refunds will be accepted for any reason.

As the Service involves custom-made digital content, refunds are not available once the design process has started.

The design process is deemed to have begun once payment is confirmed and the User’s request has been received.

Exceptions may be made solely at the Company’s discretion in cases of proven negligence.

Article 7 – Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan.

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with this Service shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Japan, with the court located in the Company’s place of business serving as the court of first instance.

Even if the User resides outside of Japan, the User agrees to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Japanese courts.

Article 8 – Changes to the Terms

The Company may revise these Terms at any time without prior notice.

The revised Terms will take effect upon posting on the Company’s website.
